Privacy Policy

Modefai (modefai.com) is an online fitting room: you upload a photo of yourself, choose a piece of clothing, a hairstyle or footwear, and AI makes a picture of you wearing it. Modefai decides how the information described here is used and is responsible for it.

• Your account. Your name, your email address, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and no password.
• Your photos. The photo of yourself and any pictures of clothing or hairstyles you upload.
• Your looks. The pictures made for you, the choices behind each one (pose, colours, material, length, size of the picture), and whether it worked.
• Credits and payments. What you bought, when, how much you paid, and your credit activity. Card and mobile money details are entered on the payment company's own page. We never see or store them.
• Seller details. If you apply to sell in the Shop: your brand name, what you make, your website, and the pieces you submit.
• Your settings. Which notifications you chose to receive.
• How the app is used. Pages viewed, the site that sent you here, your country, and the kind of device and browser. See Cookies and analytics below.
• Technical records. Your internet address is used briefly to limit abuse, and errors are recorded so we can fix them.

• To make your looks, show them to you and keep them in your history.
• To check every photo before a look is made: it must show one adult, fully clothed, and clothing images must not be lingerie, swimwear or very revealing. These checks are automatic.
• To run your account: sign you in, keep your credit balance, take payments and send receipts.
• To send you emails about your account and, if you chose them, notifications and offers.
• To keep the service safe: limit abuse, and suspend accounts that break the rules.
• To understand how the app is used so we can improve it, using figures that do not identify you.

We do not sell your information. We do not use your photos for advertising, and we do not use your photos or your looks to train AI models.

We use other companies to run parts of the service. They receive only what they need for their part, and may only use it to provide that service to us:

• An AI image service. Your photo and the picture of the piece are sent to it so the look can be made, and so photos can be checked against our rules.
• File storage. Holds your uploaded photos and your finished looks.
• Database and hosting. Hold your account and run the website.
• A payment company. Takes your payment. It receives your email address and the amount.
• An email service. Delivers our emails to you.
• Google. Only if you choose to sign in with Google, or allow analytics cookies.

These companies may process information in countries other than yours. A designer whose piece you try on does not receive your photo, your look or your name. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.

• Photos you upload (of you and of clothing) are deleted 7 days after upload.
• Finished looks are kept for 12 months after your most recent purchase. If you have never made a purchase, each look is kept for 60 days. After that the picture is deleted for good.
• Your account details are kept while you have an account.
• Records of payments and credits are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, also after an account is closed.
• Usage figures are kept for about 13 months, and error records for 30 days.

• Signing in uses cookies that keep you signed in and protect the sign-in form. The app cannot work without them.
• Your choice of light or dark theme, and your cookie choice, are remembered in your browser.
• We count visits ourselves without any cookie. Your internet address is not stored: it is turned into a code that changes every day, so a visit on one day cannot be linked to a visit on another.
• Our hosting company gives us visit and page speed figures, also without cookies.
• With your permission we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to understand how the app is used. It is off until you allow it, and the app works the same without it.

• Change your name, your password and your notification choices in your settings.
• Download any of your looks from your history.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account and what belongs to it, by writing to support@modefai.com from the email address of your account. We answer within 30 days.
• Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict how your information is used, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Only upload photos of yourself, or photos you have the right to use. If someone has uploaded a photo of you without your permission, write to us and we will remove it.

Modefai is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have an account, and photos of anyone under 18 are not accepted. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its photos.

Connections to the app are encrypted, passwords are stored only in hashed form, and payments are handled by a specialist payment company. No service can promise perfect security. If something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you as the law requires.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to how your information is used, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
